October 2025 - Shortz, Nubbin, YOCA, SIFP, PSC, And More
Little late posting this, but I have been quite busy continuing to build on the projects I worked on this month in November. A lot was built let's get into it.
Shortz
Continued working on the Short News Video Generator app. A lot went into this, and I continued into November. The main focus was getting the news story, screenshot, and TTS text to be displayed then use Piper TTS to generate the reading of the text. And then generated an OpenShot project file, that was later mostly abandoned for a better process. To host these on my website I created the project for the website bud didn't do much with it yet.
You can see the output of the Shortz app on YouTube at: https://www.youtube.com/@Tek4Me/
Nubbin
With my experiments with EF I wanted to make a quick project where I can control basically Github Gist's, or just dump Markdown and send a link to someone. The AI system I use added this later, but I have my own hosting of Markdown sharing. It also gave me some more experience with EF and Blazor Auth.
YOCA
Did some clean up and trying to get drag and drop working with partial success on project tasks. I found this to be more of a distraction from trying other stuff.
Save It For Pantry
This project got a few more features, including shopping lists, and ability to move to a shopping list when you run out of an item, then check it back into storage. Giving more of a life cycle of an item you are using and buying. I also did some cleanup, so we are dealing with Items not UPCs as that makes more sense.
Project Sweet Corn
This project is my idea for creating a SaaS around an agency providing a service, and interacting with a client for approval of work, and project management by the agency. I really pushed in using Entity Framework on this and trying to get help from AI on best practices.
Wrap-Up
Ya this was late, and I did mess with a few other things but nothing substantial. I feel like this was a busy month looking back, and what made it take so long to write this up was probably because November I go hard in on the Shortz app and getting more things done each day. This was also the last full month of my IT contract. the client lost a big contract for now and seems to be hurting for money, more annoying that they expect to do some of the things they used to pay me full time to do, then contract, and now think they will do on their own.
Until next month or later, building code daily continues.
